serving communities and organizations since 2019.

At Tataga Inc., our services are designed to create relationships between non-Indigenous organizations and Indigenous Nations. Our Herd maintains an emphasis on engagement, organizational strategy, and social services as our areas of practice to serve the clients and communities we are beholden to.

We strive to be stewards of the projects and relationships we engage in and cultivate. We do this by advocating for Indigenous data sovereignty in our engagement approaches alongside inviting culture into our corporate and social strategic work.

With a diverse team of intersectional Indigenous professionals, Tatâga Inc. is positioned to serve communities and organizations from all backgrounds.

our approach

core practice areas

Community engagement

At Tatâga Inc., community engagement is at the heart of what we do. Through in person and online engagements, we create meaningful spaces between organizations by emphasizing collaborative, culturally sensitive approaches rooted in Indigenous Ways of Knowing. Our approach ensures that engagement is not just transactional but mutually beneficial, aspiring to building trusting and long-term relationships.

We facilitate dialogues which center the voices of youth, Elders, community members, and elected leadership. Through workshops, consultations, and participatory sessions, we bridge gaps and create pathways to work alongside Indigenous communities in a good way.

strategic planning

Our strategic practice is focused on co-designing and delivering functional strategies to increase Indigenous initiatives within organizations. Our strategic practice specifically focuses on the areas of Reconciliation Action Planning, Functional Opportunity Mapping, Indigenous Student Programs, Indigenous Procurement, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Our strategic services include a preliminary Streamlined Current-State Assessment, which culminates in an introductory report informed by data and internal engagement findings.

Child & Family Services Advocacy

As a company founded by CEO, Ali Tapaquon, a former Indigenous youth and care and adoptee, we are passionate about advocating for Indigenous, diverse, and all children in close proximity to Child & Family Services organizations. Tatâga Inc. partners alongside Indigenous Registered Social Workers to bring contemporary accreditation to compliment lived experiences in order to better serve youth and organizations.

Through our advocacy work, we partner with organizations who require internal assessments, recommendations, and strategic guidance to better support Indigenous youth in care, adoptees, and at-risk youth. Tatâga Inc. prioritizes rooting our work within culture and Elder guidance, to better provide holistic care. Our services are designed to support organizations who are serving youth in care, youth aging-out of care, and adoptees in non-Indigenous homes.

indigenous digital art

Through our Artist in Residence Program, Tatâga Inc. and Joseph Tapaquon provide Indigenous artwork for organizational digital and printing needs. Joseph has provided artwork for several national, provincial, and private companies, most recently providing artwork for Deloitte’s 2024 Reconciliation Action Plan.

Joseph Tapaquon also provides fine art by sharing his gifts as a painter. Through the Artist in Residence program, Joseph responds to commissions for fine paintings and murals of all sizes.

Tatâga Inc. and Joseph Tapaquon operate under the guidelines from the First Nation’s Principles of OCAP®, and include guidance for clients on how-to-use Joseph’s artwork ethically and in a manner which supports the interests of all parties.
